THERAPEUTIC PHILOSOPHY
Throughout your life, you might find yourself underwater. Maybe you are struggling to stay afloat or perhaps you are drowning. It is my hope as a counselor to provide a hand that helps you to the surface for air. I want to meet you where you are at and maybe that means I help teach you how to swim or just simply sit with you as you ride the waves of struggle and hardship. We are more than our problems or diagnoses. We are all just trying to make it in this crazy world.

Every person comes into counseling with a different background, different circumstances, and different life experiences. Therefore, your counseling experience shouldn’t fit into one-sized-fits-all box. I seek to look beyond the conventional conveyor belt type of healthcare management that seems to be the norm. Let’s figure out what your strengths are and build on them. I believe that we can explore and uncover root issues and patterns of negative thinking by utilizing integrative therapies and working from a holistic and wellness framework. With that said, I tend to focus on cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and existential modalities. Additionally, I also love the idea of promoting art, music, nature, and animals as methods for healing as well.

Trauma-informed care is embedded in my professional and personal experience and has created in me the desire to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and empathic practice. It can be uncomfortable coming to counseling and being vulnerable to a complete stranger. Given the chance, I hope you will feel welcomed and heard throughout our service together.
